#WeWillWeek – Stoke High School Ormiston Academy takeover
Stoke High School Ormiston Academy
On Wednesday 1st March we tasked pupils across the Ormiston network with the #WeWill website challenge. Asking young people to write and submit content on the day. Three pupils from Stoke High School Ormiston Academy explored the human impact on the environment.
By Mohammed Esber
Humans impact the physical environment in many ways: overpopulation, pollution, burning fossil fuels, and deforestation. Changes like these have triggered climate change, soil erosion, poor air quality, and undrinkable water. These negative impacts can affect human behaviour and can prompt mass migrations or battles over clean water.
The Earth’s environment makes Earth the only planet on the solar system where life and sustainability is possible. From the beginning of time, the Earth has provided all the inhabitants of the planet with everything they need for their survival.

Environmental Action
This is a pieces about trying to spread awareness about the dangers of rubbish in our environment.
The dangers of rubbish
Rubbish most times seems completely harmless but in most cases it’s not. Rubbish can kill animals, block up rivers and much more. Dropping litter can ruin the environment in many ways.
How can we make a change?
Tackling this problem can be very difficult. However, little changes can easily lead to bigger changes. Small changes are things like driving less. Bigger changes are things like using and buying plastic less. I believe if we try hard enough, we could easily do these changes.
What if we don’t take action?
If we don’t act soon then not only our environment will suffer but also the lives of animals and people. It might also ruin very many industries such as tourism and photography.
My suggestions
I suggest doing more things like recycling and installing more bins.
Mental impact
The damage of rubbish can also be mental not just physical. A ruined environment can result in more depression and anxiety cases. Pollution can also block the sun and contribute more to the rise in cases of mental illnesses.
